How does the Mass Media Represent the Concept of Electric Vehicles?

The number of electric vehicle sales has been increasing rapidly since 2015. This marketing success is inseparable from the role mass media in promoting and campaigning for use such vehicles. study attempts to investigate how represents concept vehicles through its campaign promotion discourses. Using a descriptive qualitative method with interpretation technique, this analyzed 20 texts collected campaigns discourses produced by media. data was Critical Discourse Analysis perspective based on Hall's theory representation Fowler's linguistic tools. process resulted 177 words, phrases, clauses that represent results reveal 4 (four) important representations eye media; (1) are environmentally friendly, (2) technologically advanced, (3) economical, (4) growing innovation. expected bring both theoretical practical contributions. Meanwhile, practically, beneficial practitioners be used as model construct advertisement languages able attract audience attention well influence people's ideology.
